Total cooking time: 7-8 minutes
Do not overcook (the texture should feel tender, not too dense)

  1. Thaw
    Thaw in the fridge overnight (preferred) or thaw in cold running water for ~1 hour.

  2. Slice into ribeyes
    Slice the roast into 4-6 ribeyes. Note: For thicker ribeyes, the cooking time needs to be adjusted. Start low with the heat, in order to not overcook! 

  3. Season and Preheat Medium-Low
    Season the ribeye with salt and pepper.
    Preheat oil in a pan on low-medium heat.

  4. Cook for 6-10 Minutes
    Cook the ribeye for 6-10 minutes (6 mins for a 4 oz steak, 10 mins for a 6 oz steak) on medium-low heat, flipping occasionally.
    Do not overcook! (If it feels like Seitan, it’s overcooked.)

  5. Rest and Finish
    Remove from heat and let the ribeye rest for 2-3 minutes.
    Add more salt, pepper, and steak butter.

What is the steak roast?

Our steak roast is essentially our signature ribeye before it’s sliced - so you get the same premium texture and flavor in a bigger, more flexible cut.

At 1.5 lbs, it’s perfect for customizing portions, carving to your preference, or even slow-roasting to tender perfection.

Many customers use it for Beef Wellington. Be careful not to dry it out: sear it first, then bake gently to keep it moist and delicious. This is the reason, we don't recommend this recipe but you do you ;-)
